Maximiliano Cristiani y Karina Colmeiro – World Tango Champion 2013
Maximiliano y Karina were the feature artists of the Saigon Tango Festival 2015. Due to the massive demand and love from their students and Vietnam Tango Community they are coming back to Saigon Tango Festival 2016 with the multiple roles as teachers, performers, judges and coaches! Let’s join us to welcoming them back!
Maximiliano Cristiani, has studied with the great masters of tango salón and his biggest influence is the master teacher OSVALDO ZOTTO. He was a part of the first generation of BALLET AZ, where young dancers got together for 4 hours a day to learn from the old masters such as GERARDO Portalea, PUPY CASTELLO, Paiva, GLORIA AND EDUARDO, PAREJITA, CHINO PERICO among other great teachers.
Maximiliano is renowned for its didactic and exciting way of teaching and he conveys the essence of tango that the great masters have left on both tango salon and show tango.
Maximiliano has his own studio in Buenos Aires where he teaches seminars and workshops weekly and he has trained hundreds of students, who many of them today are already professional dancers.
He has been known for the last 8 years to be competing in various championships and have won the title of:
- World champion of TANGO DE PISTA 2013.
- Champion of Buenos Aires Tango competion 2012.
- Champion of Milonga 2012.
- Subchampion of World Tango Salon 2012.
- Subchampion of World Stage Tango 2008.
- Subchampion of moetropolitano 2005.
He has been in the top position of all the Tango competitions for the last 8 years.
Karina Colmeiro is renowned for the high sensibility of her dance and for the quality of her teaching. She is a dancer, performer who has gone through various styles of dance. With a full training as a dancer, Karina danced ballet and contemporary dance professionally and has studied at the same time, pedagogy and music to become a Dance Teacher, She studies at the National School of Dance and then at the Teatro San Martin in Buenos Aires. Karina has been part of numerous Dance Companies in Argentina and Europe.
Karina danced and taught tango around the world through South America, North America, Asia, Europe and Oceania. She has participated in numerous Tango Festivals and work with different partners. Karina a choreographed shows in Buenos Aires and in others countries. She is also organizer of Practica Las Malevas, a very famous Milonga in Buenos Aires.
Karina has made an exhaustive study of the use of body and movement technique, given his vast knowledge of movement and pedagogy; she became a highly qualified teacher at the same time developing a highly sensitive dance and music interpretation.
Maxi and Karina have a magical dance, the elegance of tango salon and a complicity embrace.
Together they captivate the public, passing through the tango salon, the milonga and their choreographies, based on the elegance and the connection of the couple.
They have been in the last 9 months in 7 Asian countries, Hong Kong, Japan, China, Indonesia, Korea, Philippines and Vietnam, in addition to Europe and Australia, where they have attracted hundreds of followers with a teaching system based on the targeting of each student.
Maxi and Karina form a couple as there are very few, because not only they marvel with their dance but also they are excellent tango teachers with a meticulously developed pedagogy.
Daniel Nacucchio y Cristina Sosa – World Champions Tango Salon 2008
Daniel and Cristina have been dancing together as dance partners since 2007.
They bring different experiences and knowledge that enrich and strengthen the couple, their personality to dance and their teaching method.
Cristina Sosa started her career as ballet dancer, she was 9 years old, and did that for 8 years. During that time she had an intensive training with important ballet teachers. And she complemented with dance jazz.
In 2001 Cristina started to dance Stage Tango.
Since then she performed in events and in many tango shows in Buenos Aires.
Daniel started his career as pianist, he was 6 years old. With very hard work he graduated at 16 years old and became professional in this discipline, teaching and making concert in make Argentina. He played in the theater Colon.
In 1995 he started to dance tango, he was formed with renowned master on Tango Salon.
In 2000 he moved to Japan to teach and dance Argentine Tango.
Cristina and Daniel met and started to dance together in a dinner show.
Subsequently, in 2008, they went on to participate in the “Metropolitan Tango an Milonga Championship” and also in the “World Tango Championship”.
Their hard work paid off, they were crowned champions in all the categories!
They also competed and won “The International Japan Open”, making them the first tango couple to have won four most prestigious tango competitions within a single year.
Now they work all around the world dancing, teaching and judging.
For the first time, we are glad to welcoming them to be the artists of the Saigon Tango Festival 2016! Can’t wait!
Raymond Chu y Lily Cheng – Hong Kong
Raymond Chu and Lily Cheng have won in the Salon Tango and Vals categories in the Championship in China, 2014. They are also the only Chinese dancers to have won as the champions of the Asian Championship (salon tango category) in Japan. They have represented Asia to participate in the World Championship 2011 in Buenos Aires, Argentina and made their way to the top 4 in the semi-final among over 400 professional couples from all over the world. They are an inspirational reference for the new generations of dancers and performers, widely recognized for their elegance and essence of tango in their dance.
Raymond and Lily have started dancing Argentine tango since 2003 and faithfully follow its inheritance. Their teachers are well-respected tango masters in Buenos Aires, including Laila Rezk and Leandro Oliver, Daniel Nacucchio and Cristina Sosa, Maximiliano Cristiani and Karina Colmeiro, Sol Cerquides and Fernando Gracia Gabriel Misse and Natalia Hills, Christian Marquez and Virginia Gomez, Javier Rodriguez and Virginia Pandolfi, Francisco Forquera and Carolina Bonadventura and Pablo Giorginni and Noelia Coletti… etc.
Raymond and Lily actively promote argentine tango to a wider audience. They have started teaching and founded OTROTango in 2006. Over the years, Lily and Raymond have provided exceptional training to hundreds of argentine tango students and international tangueros, traveling around the world to teach workshops and perform in Seoul, Taipei, Sydney, Tokyo, Shanghai, Bali, Singapore, Beijing, Brunei and Istanbul etc. They have also been invited to perform in some of the prestigious milongas, such as Salon Canning, Sunderland and La Baldosa in the mecca of tango, Buenos Aires. They have organized the 1st Tango Championship in Hong Kong 2013, and Mini-championship in 2016.

Daniel y Anna – Taipei, Taiwan
Professional tango dancers, teachers and organizers in Taipei, directors of Tanguisimo Tango Space, the first tango studio in Taiwan co-founded in 2008, and organizers of the worldwide renowned Taipei Tango Festival, co-founded in 2003. Having lived in Central America before the age of 12, Daniel has a deep interest in the cultural side of tango as well as music and dance. He waived a high-positioned engineering consultant job to become the first professional Argentine tango dancer in Taiwan. Anna studied Art Education in university and combines multiple talents such as acting, modeling, voice acting, graphic designing and fashion designing into her role as a tango teacher and dancer with great success. Together, Daniel y Anna are searching for a style that combines a good embrace with deep connection, open to different possibilities of Tango de Salon and Tango Fantasia, looking to interpret various emotions of the music. They have performed in various international events in Japan, South Korea, China, Singapore, Indonesia and Taiwan, working with artists like Ryota Komatsu, Aida Momoko, Ruei-Ran Wu, Yung-Lung Wu, to mention a few. Daniel y Anna achieved 5th place in Tango de Pista in the 2016 Asian Championship held in Tokyo.

Vivian Yeh y Nicolas Marini – Shanghai & Argentina
Vivian, founder of TangoBang, organizer of Shanghai Tango Festival.
Vivian has been teaching and organizing Argentina tango class, workshop and performance since 2008 in Shanghai. She has been invited to share her passion to Tango at the most important Tango Festivals in Asia.
Nicolas L Marini, international teacher and professional dancer of tango from Buenos Aires, Argentina.
He won the 3rd place in La Plata region for Mundial de Tango.

Tzu-Han y Kyoko – Tokyo, Japan
Tzu-Han & Kyoko are an Argentine Tango couple based in Tokyo, Japan. Teaching and performing regularly in and around Tokyo. Some maestros who have contributed to their growth include Andres Sautel & Celeste Medina, Hugo Mastrolorenzo, Agustina Vignau, Diana Pujol, Daniel Nacucchio & Cristina Sosa, Facundo Piñero & Vanesa Villalba, Juan Malizia & Manuela Rossi, and Gaspar Godoy & Carla Mazzolini. Recently, they are studying the heart of the dance with Javier Rodríguez, from whom they absorb the feeling and culture of tango. Concurrently, they are studying the beautiful and dynamic flow to be found within tango from Noelia Hurtado & Carlitos Espinoza.
Tzu-Han & Kyoko have steadily increased their teaching and performance activities since partnering together. While teaching their own classes in Tokyo 5 days a week, they are regularly invited to do workshops at other tango studios. They have given classes or performances in Niigata, Nagoya, Mantova, Moscow, St. Petersburg, and Buenos Aires. They performed at the 9th Taiwan Tango Festival 2011, the White Tango Festival in Moscow 2013, and the 12th Mantova International Tango Festival 2014. They were guest artists at the 2nd Elba World Tango Festival in Italy 2015.

Geppy Pagnozzi (Geppy Tango) from Milan – Italy y Le Hang
Geppy Pagnozzi begins to devoted to the tango since 2005 studying in Milan.He participates in numerous lessons with teachers as Geraldine Rojas and Ezequiel Paludi, Maximiliano Cristiani and Karina Colmeiro, Carlitos Espinoza and Noelia Hurtado, Aoniken Quiroga and Alejandra Mantiñan, Santiago Castro, Luis Alberto Rojas, Leo Ortiz, to draw near to the various expressions of the tango; but his great passion remains the tango milonguero, which is danced in the crowded dance floor in Buenos Aires.In 2008 Geppy went to Buenos Aires for the first time to leant Tango and he keeps returning every year for long periods to study with the more known exponents of this style: Susana Miller, Maria Plazaola, Ana Maria Schapira, Ricardo Viqueira, Jorge Firpo. He exhibits in Italy in numerous public demonstrations in plazas, theaters and milongas.
Le Hang plays the key roles in the tango scene in Saigon. Started dancing tango from 2010 ever since every year she travels to Buenos Aires to nurture her passion and improve the dance quality with some of world top teachers like Aurora Lubiz, Ana Maria Schapira, Maria Prazaola, Maximiliano Cristinani, Jezus Velazquez, Ivan Leoardo Romero y Silvana Nunez…Together with Ta Tango Le Hang has promoted tango in Vietnam through various activities like performing in several cities within VN and Asia, organizing regular weekly tango class, milonga, group practica, introduce tango culture, tango events, tango weeks and all the Saigon Tango Festival Editions from 2012.
Le Hang and Geppy had lots of opportunities to train together in Buenos Aires with the same teachers. They performed in Tango in Paradise 2015, Tango in Paradise 2016 and the first time in Saigon Tango Festival 2016.

Fuchong El Tanguero – Jakarta, Indonesia
Since 2011 Fuchong has actively participated in many festivals in Asia as participants, guest DJ and/or International guest performers.
About four years ago he ventured into setting up his own Milonga in Jakarta, where he is the Host and DJ. With the flag of PACIENCIA MILONGA INDONESIA, he has help grown the Jakarta Tango community significantly. He is also a respectable and popular Tango teacher, he teaches and held Workshops from Jakarta, to Bandung, Jogjakarta and Bali.

Nguyen Bao Anh – Hong Kong
Nguyen Bao Anh is a professional classical musician who graduated from Royal College of Music, London.
He started dancing tango in Hong Kong and Korea since 2005. From 2009 he started Dj for Tango Tang and others Milonga in Hong Kong. He regularly Dj at Xperiennce Bar (Hong Kong) and the
organizer of Tuesday Milonga X in Hong Kong.
Bao Anh was DJ in the Taipei 11th & 12th Tango Festival, Saigon Tango Blitz 2012 & 2013, Hanoi 10 Years Tango Celebration, Vietnam 1st Tango Marathon 2016.

Andy Tuan Nguyen – Saigon, Vietnam
Andy is a regular DJ at Ta Tango club in Saigon since 2014. Despite of working in the business area, he invests a lot of time listening and studying Tango music. He started dancing Tango in Saigon in 2013 and quickly become one of the favorite Tango dancers as well as DJs in town. His passion for Tango and Tango music is reflected in his continuous working and studying to improve the dancing and DJing at the same time. He has done several Tango performances including Taipei tango Festival, Sakura Tango Festival, Ha noi 10 years Tango Celebrations as well several events in Saigon to promote tango. He has already built a sizable collection of music from the most famous DJs in BsAs. He has received lots of recognition and praises from local dancers, visitors and the maestros who came to HCMC. He has DJ in the several Tango events in Vietnam including several Saigon Tango Weeks, Saigon Tango Festival 2015.
He will play for us in the Saigon Tango Festival 2016 in Dec this year!
